Dr. Huemer developed the Stress Less, Go Outside programming in 2020 to explore evidence-based nature programming for stress reduction, attention restoration, and overall wellbeing. Unlike meditation-based mindfulness, this sensory-based nature immersion program uses sensory awakening, visualization, breathing, and slow movement activities. Nature effortlessly pulls us in and away from the mind’s chatter that distracts and stresses us - we work with nature’s soft fascinations.

The program is secular and designed to be practiced by ‘any body’ in any outdoor space, from backyards, to parks, forests, trails, beaches, and more. No fitness levels or special equipment required. Activities can be stacked for short practices to fit into everyday life and work routines, or longer sessions for deeper immersion and more complete restoration when time is of no essence. Each workshop comes with guidance and tips for at home practice.
